This is a Hand Mill consisting of two 2-Hi stands. It is capable of starting a 3-1/2" thick Slab and finishing all the way down to .010" thick thru a series of passes.
It comes with a 2-Hi Roughing Mill Stand utilizing 28" to 30" diameter rolls with a 62" face. The top roll is driven through a slip type pinion by a 1,400hp motor running at 32 RPM producing a roll speed of 220.8 fpm. This stand has a max length of 240" material (20 ft) and a minimum length of 12". Max thickness is 3-1/2" and a minimum thickness of .010".
It also has a 2-Hi Hand Sheet Finishing Mill Stand that utilizes 28" to 30" diameter rolls with a 48" to 60" face. The top roll is friction driven. This stand is driven by a 1,400hp motor running at 32 RPM producing a roll speed of 220.8 fpm. The Max width that can be rolled is 54" and minimum width is 12". Maximum thickness is .600" and minimum thickness is .010".
These are serviced by (2) Electric Furnace Co. Roller Hearth Furnaces. Each is powered by a combination of Gas and Electric. Operating temp is 900º to 1,950ºF. Total Roller Hearth length is 51' 6" and Roller Hearth width is 6' 5".
