This Isothermal Forging Press is designed to produce high-alloy parts that have to be forged at ultra low speeds in dies with temperatures that equal that of the pre-heated billets. Dimensional accuracy and a minimum of reworking are just a few of the advantages provided. Products produced on this press conform to the highest quality standards of the aircraft industry.
Typical products are as follows:
Aircraft components such as turbine blades and turbine disks, and medical appliances, etc.
Use of innovative materials:
Titanium base alloys and Nickel alloys
Customer benefits:
Highest reproducibility of product quality.
The Robot controller is Robox. The robot sits inside the vessel with atmosphere and has a 200KG max weight rating.
There are two furnaces linked into the centre chamber where the robot sits, a transfer tunnel to the press and atmosphere doors to the press.
Transfer time from furnace to press is approx 10 seconds - this can be altered within the speed of robot movement!
Robot and Vacuum chamber were manufactured by Lamberton & Lamberton Robotics in Glasgow, Scotland
The Two furnaces were built by IPW Ltd. (one is electrical resistance , and one is induction) Both are single shot furnaces.
